Vanilla WOW Gold Blizzard Entertainment reported that police detained a hacker suspected of a DDoS attack on World of Warcraft Classic servers. Representatives of the studio noted that they began the search for the criminal as soon as problems with data centers appeared.
WoW Classic players first started reporting server problems on September 7th and a day later Blizzard went through another DDoS attack that also affected the multi-player FPS Overwatch. WoW players lost their connection to the game despite a successful login.
Responsibility for the attack took on a hacker who had previously destabilized Wikipedia servers for 12 hours. He described his actions on Twitter but at the time of publication of the news his profile was blocked. Blizzard did not confirm that he was really involved in the attack.
